Color Forecast

Pimkie Color Forecast is a framework of applications that harvest the most trending colors on certain locations. It was a joint venture with Happiness Brussels, namely Patrick Glorieux, Thibault Jadoul+Nicolas Felten from Everything is fun and Bliss Interactive.

For the Color Forecast project, I developed the color clustering software. Cameras were installed pointing at pedestrian streets, with the objective of detecting what colors people are wearing. The application captures moving pixels via frame differencing. The application runs 24/7 and stores clustered colors (using k-means) in an online histogram. Colors were clustered for streets in front of Pimkie stores in Antwerp, Milan, and Paris.
